The number of casualties so far stands at 265. Amidst this tragic incident, heart-wrenching stories of the victims’ families are coming forward, most of who are still awaiting the DNA results. One such story is that of Javed Ali Sayed, his wife, Mariam and their two children, Amani and Zayn, who lost their lives in the plane crash. But his mother is kept unaware of this shocking news due to her health conditions.
Javed Ali’s brother says that he has consulted a doctor before breaking the tragic news to their mother
Imtiyaz Ali Sayed told BBC that their family has hidden the news of the Air India plane crash and his brother, Javed Ali and his wife and two children, who were on-board the flight, passing away in the tragic accident. As their mother is a heart patient, Imtiyaz stated that he has consulted a doctor before carefully breaking the news. He said that they would administer injections to her so that her body wouldn’t react violently to the shocking news. Incidentally, Javed and his wife, Mariam, along with their two children, had visited India to meet his ailing mother and were on their way back to London.
The late Javed Ali’s mother has an intuition that something is amiss
Imtiyaz Ali talked about his mother and said, ‘Woh toh mummy hai. Paida kiya hai mujhe. Mujhse kitni jyada smart hongi.” The victim’s brother stated that his mother has got an intuition that something really big has happened. Despite waiting outside the B.J. Medical Hospital for DNA test results, Imtiyaz said that he talks to his mother every night so that she doesn’t doubt his whereabouts. However, Imtiyaz described a conversation, in which his mother expressed her anxiety, and said:
“Ek normal baat mai unhone teen baar mujhe pucha, ‘Sab Khairiyat? Sab Khairiyat?’. Maine unko pucha ki tum kyu puch rahe aisa baar baar, unhone kaha, ‘Mujhe baichani ho rahi hai’.”
Javed Ali’s mother has been deprived of all information about the tragic plane crash
As the news of the Air India AI171 plane crash is all over the news and social media, globally as well as in the country, Imtiyaz Ali revealed how his mother was kept away from all the information. Her phone has been taken away on the pretence of it being broken. Since the victim’s mother can also watch it on news channels, the family has kept the TV off and does not switch it on at all. Imtiyaz said that if his mother were to come across even one photo, she would figure everything out.
Javed Ali’s brother talked about the huge loss that their family has incurred
Javed Ali was an India-born citizen of the UK, and he was travelling back to London with his wife and two children on an Air India flight, which crashed after only a few minutes of take-off. His brother, Imtiyaz Ali, raised some questions about the incident and said that he wanted to ask who was responsible for this and why their family had to face such a huge loss. Imtiyaz’s voice broke down during the interview, as he said that his brother’s entire generation was wiped out because of ‘someone else’s negligence’. To note, Javed’s children, Amani and Zayn, were 6 and 4 years respectively and were the youngest victims of the crash.
