Actor Karan Tacker took to social media on Friday to revisit his breakout role in Special Ops, ahead of the upcoming trailer launch for the second season of the acclaimed espionage series created by Neeraj Pandey.

Tacker, who played the role of undercover agent Farooq Ali in the first season, posted a throwback montage featuring highlights from Special Ops Season 1. The video served as a recap and homage to the series that redefined Indian spy thrillers when it premiered in 2020. The actor captioned the post: “Thoda Recap ho jaaye? 2020 se 2025 ka yeh intezaar ab jald hi khatam hone wala hai.. Tayyar hain?”
The post received strong engagement from fans, many of whom expressed excitement about the series’ return after a five-year gap. The trailer for Special Ops 2 is expected to drop soon, with the second season promising to raise the stakes while continuing the story of RAW agent Himmat Singh’s team and their global missions.
Special Ops first premiered on Disney+ Hotstar in 2020 and was widely praised for its high production value, multi-layered plotlines, and strong performances. Created by Neeraj Pandey and co-directed by Shivam Nair, the show followed a multi-nation chase to track down the mastermind behind several terror attacks. Tacker’s portrayal of Farooq Ali—an agent embedded deep undercover—earned him critical acclaim and broadened his fan base.
In addition to Special Ops 2, Tacker is also working on multiple high-profile projects. He recently wrapped the final schedule of his upcoming thriller series Bhay, an Amazon-MX production. The last leg of the shoot took place in London. According to sources close to the production, Bhay is expected to showcase a darker, more intense side of the actor.
