    Communal unrest: 38 arrested in Assam’s Dhubri | India News – Times of India

    GUWAHATI: Authorities in Assam’s Dhubri town have issued shoot-on-sight orders at night and arrested 38 people since Friday following communal unrest sparked by the discovery of cattle heads outside two temples during Eid and the following day.Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the arrests Saturday on X. He visited Dhubri to assess the flare-up and said posters from a secessionist group calling itself Nabin Bangla were found in the area. The group had called for the district’s merger with Bangladesh.Dhubri SSP Navin Singh has been transferred. Leena Doley has taken charge amid escalating tensions in the border town near Bangladesh. Security forces remain on high alert, and officials continue efforts to prevent violence.
