MUMBAI: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance and HDFC Life have all announced special measures to expedite claims for victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash.LIC said it will accept any government record or compensation document from the Centre, state or airline as valid proof of death, even if a formal death certificate is not available. The insurer said it will proactively reach out to the families and settle claims quickly to reduce hardships.Bajaj Allianz, meanwhile, has set up a special claims settlement desk and simplified the procedures to prioritise claims from affected families. If a death certificate is not available, the company will accept certificates issued by hospitals or municipal bodies to begin processing. Nominees can contact the insurer via its toll-free number, email or any of its 596 branches. HDFC Life also said that it will not insist on a death certificate.
