Actor Pulkit Samrat took to social media to mark 12 years since the release of Fukrey, the 2013 sleeper hit that went on to redefine the buddy-comedy genre in Hindi cinema. In an Instagram post, Pulkit shared a heartfelt note of gratitude, thanking fans and his team for the love the film continues to receive.

Thank you so much for all the love. #12YearsOfFukrey,” he wrote and shared glimpses of the film.
For the unversed, Pulkit played the lead role of Hunny — a street-smart, quick-witted Delhi boy in Fukrey which went on to become a defining role in his career. The character struck a chord with the youth for his jugaadu instincts, charming confidence, and loyal friendship. Alongside Varun Sharma’s Choocha, Ali Fazal’s Zafar, Manjot Singh’s Lali, and Richa Chadha’s Bholi Punjaban, the film acquired the status of a cult franchise, from being a modest comedy.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Excel Entertainment, Fukrey was praised for its quirky humour, memorable characters, and rooted Delhi setting. The film’s success led to two sequels — Fukrey Returns (2017) and Fukrey 3 (2023), with the original gang returning each time. Over the years, the franchise carved a loyal fan base and emerged as one of the few comedy series in Hindi cinema to sustain its popularity over a decade.
Moving forward, Pulkit Samrat is set to explore new genres. He will next be seen in Glory, a boxing drama, and Suswagatam Khushamadeed, a cross-cultural romance. He is currently filming Rahu Ketu with his Fukrey co-star Varun Sharma and actress Shalini Pandey, which is being shot in Kasol.
