    Tottenham Hotspur announce Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou replacement

    Tottenham Hotspur have announced the appointment of Thomas Frank as their new manager on Thursday, June 12 after the sacking of Ange Postecoglou. Frank joins from Brentford on a three-year contract, becoming the 13th manager in the history of the club. During his time at Brentford, the Danish tactician made the Bees into a formidable unit in the Premier League and helped them finish 10th in the points table last season.

    Despite winning the Europa League, Postecoglou was sacked on June 6, owing to a poor Premier League, which saw Tottenham finish 17th in the table. Spurs announced on their website that in Frank, they’ren appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches in the game. They also said that the Danish tactician will be joined by Justin Cochrane, Chris Haslam and Joe Newton and they will be joined Andres Georgson to complete the new backroom staff at the club.

    “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Frank as our new Head Coach on a contract that runs until 2028.”

    “In Thomas we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game. He has a proven track record in player and squad development and we look forward to him leading the team as we prepare for the season ahead.”

    “Thomas will be joined from Brentford by Justin Cochrane (First Team Assistant Coach), Chris Haslam (Head of Performance & First Team Assistant Coach) and Joe Newton (First Team Coach Analyst), with Andreas Georgson (First Team Assistant Coach) arriving from Manchester United,” read the statement.

    Frank managed Brentford for the past seven years and helped them gain promotion in 2021. Since his appointment with the Bees, they have shown an upward trajectory in performance. After ending his playing career, Frank had coached in Denmark before taking on the Brentford job.
