While his demise coincided with the fatal plane crash, it happened due to a sudden cardiac arrest, as reported. Official confirmation and the family’s reaction to this still awaited. As per the circulated reports, Sunjay Kapur was playing polo, when he suffered a cardiac arrest that took his life on June 12, 2025. Just before that, he dropped a tweet about the Air India crash. However, another of his posts surfaced after his demise. The post was about the time of the earth being limited, and thus, people should not think about ‘what ifs’ and rather try to headfirst into ‘why nots’. This post struck a chord in people’s minds as within just 3 days of the same, Sunjay left the world all of a sudden because of a cardiac arrest. His post could be read as:
“Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the ‘what ifs’ to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the ‘why nots’.”

Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur got married in 2003, and in 2016, they were granted a divorce. Sunjay was married to Priya Sachdev Kapur. Well, even though Sunjay and Karisma were divorced, they shared a cordial bond, and it’s quite obvious that his passing would surely turn her world upside down. She is yet to make any comment on the same. Sunjay Kapur was an industrialist and non-executive director of Sona Comstar, a company that is the key supplier of electric vehicles. In their statement about Sunjay Kapur’s passing, Sonam Comstar confirmed that he passed away at the age of 53 in England, UK. They have credited Sunjay as a wonderful leader, who, by his values, vision, dedication and excellence, shaped the company and left a legacy. Sharing condolences to his family, Sona Comstar, in a statement, said:
“Sunjay was a visionary leader and a compassionate person whose guidance shaped Sona Comstar’s success. His vision, values, and dedication to excellence has left a lasting legacy for the Company. Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor’s relationship
After her broken engagement with Abhishek Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor got married to Sunjay Kapur back in 2003. The couple became parents to two kids, Samaira and Kiaan. Soon after their marriage, it was in 2014, when the actress left everyone shocked with her revelations about Sunjay physically abusing her. She also accused Sunjay of auctioning her during her honeymoon. It was reported that Karisma got married to Sunjay after her mom’s direct insistence, and her father was against it. In 2016, Sunjay and Karisma got divorced, and Karisma got custody of her kids.
