Arjunbhai Manubhai Patolia lost his life after he came to India to immerse his wife’s ashes

Arjunbhai Manubhai Patolia is a resident of Wadia village in Gujarat’s Armeli district. He, along with his wife and kids, were residing in London, as reported. However, destiny had a major blow as Arjunbhai’s wife recently passed away in London. To fulfil his dead wife’s last wish, Arjunbhai came back to India to perform rituals and immerse her ashes in Wadia. He, with a heavy heart, took part in the rituals to bid farewell to his wife forever.

Arjunbhai Manubhai Patolia boarded the Air India AI171 flight on June 12, 2025, to reach London for his already grieving kids. However, destiny had some other plans, as Arjunbhai also lost his life, leaving the kids orphaned. The plane crashed into a medical college, leading a lot of people to lose their lives. Reportedly, only one passenger of 11A could escape death, and survive in this shocking accident. While the entire case is heartbreaking, the story of Arjunbhai left us shocked and grieved.

The reason for the crash of Air India AI171

The deadly collapse of the Air India plane crash has been the most shocking and tragic incident that India has witnessed in a decade. The reason for the crash is not yet known, but the investigation is underway. Once confirmed, the details will be released soon. But ahead of that, BBC has talked to aviation experts to know about the possible reasons behind this deadliest crash.

Within 30 seconds of taking off, it crashed into the wall of BJ Medical hostel and caught fire. Thus, experts claimed that it might be the case of engine failure or that two engines could be at fault. It is reportedly the first crash of Air India Dreamliner since the time it started operating in 2011.

While there is no confirmation of engine failure, it is just a possibility, and it’s also quite possible that the backup system (RAT) might have kicked in. Ahmedabad is a place which is known to be filled with birds, so there might also be a possibility of the birds striking an engine or both engines. Apart from these, any flaps might have occurred, be it mechanical or human-made, leading the plane to crash and collapse in the nearby medical college. 12 cabin crew and others from the plane died, along with some medical students in the hostel, which happened due to the plane crashing inside the wall.
