Swedish activist Greta Thunberg faced trolling on social media as she reached France after being deported from Israel. In a video, she appeared to have put her hands behind her which enraged social media users who concluded that she was doing it to pretend that she was handcuffed. Thunberg was on board the Madleen which was carrying food and supplies for Gaza. The ship was intercepted by the Israeli army which did not allow it to reach Gaza and asked the activists on board to leave Israel voluntarily or face arrest. Thunberg was one of those who instantly agreed to be deported. Eight activists on the ship refused to leave Israel voluntarily and were brought before a detention review tribunal Tuesday. A pre-recorded video of Thunberg claiming that she had been kidnapped was released by Freedom Flotilla Coalition, while the Israeli army claimed no one was kidnapped, the army personnel gave sandwiches and water bottles to the activists of the ‘selfie yacht’.After reaching Paris, Thunberg said she was ‘kidnapped’ by the Israeli army in international waters. “This is yet another intentional violation of rights that is added to the list of countless other violations that Israel is committing,” she said.“Wow. If you look carefully you can see Greta spotting the cameras and swiftly putting her hands behind her back to make it look like she’s been handcuffed,” one social media post said, sharing the video in which Greta put her hands behind. “That lying b**ch Greta Thunberg not handcuffed, sees cameras and quickly throws her hands behind her back to pretend she’s handcuffed under arrest or “taken hostage”. She’s such a LIAR,” another wrote. Megan McCain, the daughter of the late Republican senator John McCain, shared a footage of Thunberg on a seat next to the toilet. “Putting her in the last seat in coach that doesn’t recline next to the toilet is my favorite thing today,” McCain wrote.
