US President Donald Trump has officially launched the “Trump Card,” a highly-priced immigration program that offers a path to US citizenship for foreigners willing to pay $5 million. It is also known as the “Gold Card” and is now open for applicants via the new government website, trumpcard.gov. Potential applicants may also join the waitlist.

Trump promoted the program on his Truth Social account, stating, “It’s somewhat like a Green Card, but at a more sophisticated level.” He added, “Thousands have been calling and asking how they can sign up to take a beautiful path to gain access to the greatest country and market anywhere in the world.”

Trump Card: How to register for the $5 million path to US access

If you are ready to sign up for the Trump Card waitlist, here is how to start in just a few quick steps:

    Step 1: Visit trumpcard.gov

Visit the official Trump Card website, trumpcard.gov, to begin your application.

Step 2: Provide the information requested

There will be a form on the homepage requesting the following information:

    • Full name
    • Region
    • Whether this application is for you as an individual or for a business
    • Email ID
    • Whether the request is for you, your spouse, your family, or someone else

    Step 3: Click “Submit”

After completing the form, you will click “Submit.”

    Step 4: Check your email

You will receive a six-digit verification code to your registered email address. Remember, it is only valid for 10 minutes.

    Step 5: Final verification

Enter the code on the website and click submit again. You are now officially on the Trump Card waitlist.

While the Gold Card offers a pathway to U.S. citizenship, it does not guarantee it. The fine print in Trump’s announcement specifies that the Gold Card is merely a “beautiful road to gaining access to the Greatest Country,” rather than an immediate grant of citizenship.

Trump also emphasised that the initiative does not require congressional approval since the Gold Card itself does not confer citizenship; it only offers eligibility for individuals willing to invest a significant amount of money in pursuit of what Trump describes as the American dream.

According to existing U.S. law, obtaining permanent residency or citizenship typically requires individuals to be in the country for at least five years, to be at least 18 years old, to demonstrate basic English skills, and to exhibit what is legally considered “good moral character.”

At the 2025 US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) Leadership Summit, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick expressed that there would be considerable interest in the initiative from India. He stated, “We are going to be very successful in India. “When people ask me, ‘When are you coming to India?’ I’d say, ‘When I launch the Trump Card, I promise you I’m coming to India.'”
