A few days after getting married to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the man was brutally murdered by her in Meghalaya, where they were honeymooning. However, while the police have arrested Sonam and her accomplices Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi, the mastermind seems to have several versions of what happened. She has now shared another twisted story of what happened on their honeymoon.

In a dramatic turn of events, the accused, Sonam Raghuvanshi, has shared another version of what happened to her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. From confessing to the crime to refusing any involvement, Sonam has given several versions of what happened. Amid that, now she has once again put a new spin on the story and revealed that both she and Raja were attacked and that he died trying to protect her.
According to a report by Live Hindustan, Sonam claimed that some men tried to snatch her jewellery, and Raja stepped in to save her. However, in the back and forth, her husband lost his life. However, when asked about how she reached Ghazipur, she added that she had lost consciousness and did not know how she had reached Ghazipur.
Sonam Raghuvanshi might have changed her story, but she is getting closely scrutinised. While Sonam alleged she was kidnapped, police suspect her claims are part of a larger conspiracy. Her father, Devi Singh Raghuvanshi, has accused the Meghalaya Police of making false allegations and called for a CBI investigation. On the other hand, Raja’s mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, maintains her son was lured to Shillong under false pretences.

Several details of the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case have come forward in the past few days. Including how Sonam Raghuvanshi orchestrated the murder of her husband with the help of her lover, Raj Kushwaha, who was also a colleague at her father’s plywood factory. They were further assisted by three assailants, Vishal Singh Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi. According to the reports, Raja and Sonam tied the knot on May 11, 2025, and left the home for their honeymoon a few days later. However, according to Raja’s family their trip was initially to Kamakhya Devi Temple, which later turned into a trip to Meghalaya, which they were not aware of.
The couple reached Meghalaya on May 20, 2025, and on May 23, 2025, the couple decided to go on a trek to one of the most popular spots in Nongriat village in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya. However, what Raja was completely unaware of was the horrifying scheme his wife had planned for him. Raja, soon after the trek, went missing. After days of searching, Raja’s dead body was recovered near Weisawdong Falls. Sonam and the three assailants fled the scene. However, Sonam was arrested from a dhaba in Ghazipur, Raj from Madhya Pradesh, and Vishal, Akash, and Anand from Uttar Pradesh.
