NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh minister Kailash Vijayvargiya on Wednesday emphasised the importance of imparting sanskar (values) to ensure that children “don’t become like Sonam”, the prime accused in the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case.“It is good to educate children, but it is equally important to instil values. Without ‘sanskar’, children become like Sonam. This daughter has brought shame to Indore,” news agency PTI quoted Vijayvargiya as saying. He was speaking at inauguration event for various development projects in Indore.Further, the BJP leader said that educated kids who are not cultured, “live like animals, leading a bestial life.”“She told me that if a woman lacks remorse, affection, and love, she becomes like Putana — the demoness who tried to kill Lord Krishna,” Vijayvargiya added, referring to Sadhvi Kankeshwari Devi, a Hindu seer.The senior MLA’s remark comes days after he expressed his dislike for “women in revealing clothes.”Sonam Raghuvanshi is accused of plotting the murder of her husband, Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, while the newly-married couple was honeymooning in the north-eastern Meghalaya state. Five people have been arrested, including Sonam and three assailants. All are currently in the custody of Meghalaya Police.
