After a judge dismissed Justin Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against Blake Lively on Monday, an insider divulged that the actress’ friendship with Taylor Swift still faces an uncertain future.
“Although it was great news for Blake, she hasn’t rekindled her friendship with Taylor yet,” a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday.
“Taylor has not been in touch with Blake and still does not want to discuss anything to do with the lawsuit.”
The insider told the outlet that the “Gossip Girl” alum, 37, is “hopeful” that she and the “Blank Space” songstress, 35, will “rekindle their friendship.”
However, “as of now, there is still distance” between the former BFFs, the source added.
Page Six reached out to reps for Lively and Swift for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
Lively’s high-profile friendship with the pop star hit a rough patch amid the actress’ legal battle with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.
The actress filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.
In January, Baldoni hit back with his explosive countersuit, accusing the “Another Simple Favor” star of defamation and extortion — while dragging Swift into the drama.
In the filing previously obtained by Page Six, Baldoni’s legal team accused Lively of weaponizing her friendship with the singer in an attempt to take over control of the movie’s production.
In May, the actor’s attorney Bryan Freedman subpoenaed the “Cruel Summer” songstress as a witness in the upcoming trial, which is set for March 2026.
They also claimed that Lively demanded that Swift delete their private texts, as well as issue a public statement in support of Lively — allegations Lively’s legal team has strenuously denied.
“We unequivocally deny all of these so-called allegations, which are cowardly sourced to supposed anonymous sources, and completely untethered from reality,” Lively’s attorney Michael Gottlieb told Page Six.
A rep for Swift, meanwhile, distanced the pop star from “It Ends With Us” and the surrounding legal drama.
“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see ‘It Ends With Us’ until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” her rep told Page Six.
“The connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet,’” they continued.
“Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”
A rep for Lively agreed in a statement to Page Six, labeling Baldoni a “bully” for the subpoena and claiming that his legal team “continue[s] to turn a case of sexual harassment and retaliation into entertainment for the tabloids.”
The allegations were ultimately ruled inadmissible in court, and Baldoni and his team unexpectedly dropped Swift’s subpoena in May.
“We are pleased that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties have withdrawn their harassing subpoenas to Taylor Swift and her law firm,” Lively’s rep told Deadline at the time.
“We supported the efforts of Taylor’s team to quash these inappropriate subpoenas directed to her counsel, and we will continue to stand up for any third party who is unjustly harassed or threatened in the process.”
In May, an insider told People that Lively and Swift’s friendship had “halted” amid the subpoena drama.
“Taylor wants no part in this drama,” they added.
