Trace Cyrus slammed his dad Billy Ray for skipping his grandma’s funeral to to attend a fashion show.
“This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic,” the singer, 36, wrote alongside a photo of the “Hannah Montana” actor via Instagram, adding that “he really flew to Italy for a fashion show but wouldn’t come to LA for Mammie’s funeral while he was still married to my mom.”
Trace continued, alleging that “even after his daughter got him a $60k private jet like he demanded,” the country star “still didn’t come,” despite the jet allegedly having been paid for.
“You’re the lamest man ever to walk planet earth,” Trace continued in the screed on Tuesday. “Honestly embarrassed to have ever considered you my idol.”
After inserting a clown emoji, Trace remarked, “the best thing to come from your downfall is it made me go into beast mode. I refuse to be a washed up, delusional, evil person when I’m old like you.”
Trace concluded the post by urging his father to “get right with God. You need it.”
He captioned the social media rant with a clown emoji and disabled comments. Via Instagram Stories, Trace also took a swipe at his father’s famous long hairstyle.
“And why does he think that homeless hairstyle looks good? So weird,” he wrote.
Additionally, Trace shared a screenshot of a fan comment suggesting the rant was “a cry for help from a son that desperately needs attention from his father.”
“Bullying him isn’t the answer btw,” the commenter added.
Trace responded, writing that he’s “past the point of even caring if I ever speak to him again.” He added that he has “nothing left to learn” from Billy Ray “except from his mistakes” and labeled him a “lost cause.”
“I’ll continue to thrive as the oldest son of the family,” he wrote. “The Cyrus name will continue through me and my many children I plan to have.”
Trace concluded the post by writing that he will “raise them the right way and be a part of their life no matter what the circumstances.”
Trace’s mom, Tish, 58, divorced Billy Ray, 63, in 2022, igniting an ongoing family feud. Tish’s mother, Loretta Finley, died in 2020 at the age of 85.
The former couple share kids Brandi, 38, and Trace — whom Billy Ray adopted when he married Tish — as well as Miley, 32, Braison, 31, and Noah, 25. Billy Ray also has a son, Christopher Cody, 33, from a previous relationship.
Trace’s rant comes on the heels of Miley’s comments about their “messy” family — and how they avoided therapy amid the Cyrus clan drama.
“We’re so messy, we didn’t even do any of that,” the “Wrecking Ball” songstress joked during Tuesday’s episode of Monica Lewinsky’s “Reclaiming” podcast.
“Just to get each other into a room to get to counseling would have been a war,” she recalled of their “really difficult … dark decade.”
She explained that while “half of [the family] weren’t speaking to each other at one point,” she “had a lot of loyalty to” mom Tish during the fallout from the high-profile divorce.
Tish went on to marry Dominic Purcell in 2023, while Billy Ray married and divorced singer Firerose between 2023 and 2024. He’s now dating supermodel Elizabeth Hurley.
Trace previously admitted to tension with his father when he called out his brother Braison over their dad following his erratic performance during president Trump’s inauguration ball.
“I’ve spent the last year getting to know my dad better than I ever have,” Braison wrote via Instagram Stories in January. “After he spent a week in the hospital in the fall, I’m grateful that my dad is happy, healthy and ready to make this record.”
Trace took to his own Instagram Stories to respond when a fan queried, “Braison is posting your dad is happy and healthy. I’m confused?”
The guitarist wrote simply, “Birds of a feather flock together.”
Amid the Cyrus family’s messages of concern, Trace accused his father of threatening legal action over their public expressions of concern.
“Dad my message was beyond loving,” he wrote via Instagram in January.
“I could have been extremely honest about a lot more but I don’t want to put your business out there like that. But for you to threaten me with legal action for wanting you to get help is a disgrace.”
