The Malta International Arts Festival (MIAF), organized by Festivals Malta, will delight audiences from June 13 to 22 with a rich program of cultural performances and exhibitions across the islands.

A DIVERSE LINE-UP ACROSS ICONIC VENUES

According to the Times of Malta, this year’s festival offers a 10-day celebration of music, dance, theatre, and visual arts. Events will take place in historic venues such as Teatru Manoel, Valletta Underground, and the Inquisitor’s Palace in Vittoriosa. Local and international artists will share the stage in a collaborative showcase of creative expression.

Kicking off the festival on June 13, Boi Il-Musical, produced by Teatru Malta and Give or Take Productions, will take audiences on a unique journey through various local Boi clubs with its touring theatre experience.

    MUSICAL TRIBUTES

On June 14, the Ravel-Satie concert will honor French composers Maurice Ravel and Erik Satie with a selection of iconic chamber pieces. Meanwhile, the acclaimed dance series M.A.D. – Music & Dance returns on June 15–16, featuring three new choreographies inspired by works from Xenakis, Sollima, and Akiho.

    UNIQUE PERFORMANCES

Between June 16 and 18, pan-flute virtuoso Adriana Babin and Italian artist Renato Cadel will present intimate concerts inside a 500-year-old underground cistern in Valletta, offering a truly immersive musical experience.

    CELEBRATING CULTURE

From June 16 to 22, the exhibition Kisra ob at Ta’ Nenu Artisan Bakery will explore global bread-making traditions, complemented by interactive ftira-making workshops. On June 17–18, Young Creatives in Motion will spotlight new choreographies set to live music from eight local dance schools.

Closing highlights include a sand art and culinary evening on June 19, a Caravaggio-inspired madrigal concert on June 20, and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance Between Heaven and Hell on June 21. The festival concludes on June 22 with Il Mio Corpo (Come) Un Monte, a boundary-pushing dance performance using live videography.
