Lily James brought a nostalgic edge to summer dressing in New York City on Monday, stepping out in NoMad wearing sandals from Jimmy Choo’s newly released archival capsule. The actress, who was in town for the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of “Relay,” paired the vintage-inspired shoes with tonal pieces from 16Arlington and a vibrant yellow handbag by Miu Miu.
James wore the Bow silhouette in the spotted Elaphe print, part of “The Archive: 1997-2001,” a curated collection revisiting the house’s earliest designs. The capsule, released this spring, revives silhouettes worn by Carrie Bradshaw on “Sex and the City” and emphasizes Jimmy Choo’s late ’90s identity: strappy, playful and unapologetically feminine.

James’ pair featured an ankle-tie detail and a pointed toe, rendered in spotted yellow and black leather — a style that recalls Bradshaw’s own leopard-print Choo moment in the show’s opening credits.
She styled the heels with the Dafne midi skirt from 16Arlington, a chocolate-brown suede design with beaded floral embellishment at the hem. The skirt’s structured A-line silhouette was softened by a pale blue satin tank from the label’s spring lineup. Known as the Gilda Top, the scoop-neck piece was tucked in loosely at the waist.

James carried the Arcadie matelassé bag from Miu Miu in a bright, sunlit yellow, echoing the warm palette of her footwear. Accessories included a dainty gold chain necklace, minimalist rings, a chainlink bracelet and oval cat-eye sunglasses. She kept her glam subtle: soft berry lips, natural skin and center-parted blond hair worn down.
The Bow, which debuted in 2000, is a playful nod to texture and pattern. This distinctive pump is defined by its signature knot detail.

The appearance follows James’ red carpet outing at TriBeCa on Saturday, where she wore a deep plum Stella McCartney mini dress with boxy shoulders and ruched detailing and matching slingbacks to promote “Relay,” a paranoid thriller in which she plays a would-be whistleblower named Sarah.
Jimmy Choo’s “The Archive: 1997–2001” collection is now available online and in select boutiques. James’ spotted sandals nod to an era of New York fashion still influencing wardrobes today — one strappy heel at a time.
