The multi-starrer Housefull 5 was released last Friday and a sequence that stood out in the pre-climax was ‘The Phoogdi Dance’. A particular moment in the scene involves Dagdu, the character played by Nana Patekar, performing a windmill stunt. A few days before the film’s release, Tejas Dunbale posted on Instagram that he’s the body double of Nana Patekar for the said scene. Housefull 5 EXCLUSIVE: Nana Patekar’s body double Tejas Dunbale opens up about his experience: “Nana Patekar appreciated my moves; Akshay Kumar was AMAZED to see my stunts and stamina; Abhishek Bachchan was concerned…”

Tejas Dunbale said, “I learned about the opportunity from a friend of mine. I was on the shoot for a day. It was a new experience. I was asked to make the moves and accordingly, I did the stunt.”

As expected, the moves impressed the team of the film. Tejas revealed, “Nana Patekar saw my moves and appreciated it a lot. Since we both are Maharashtrians, he spoke to me in Marathi.”

He also added, “I did 25 to 30 windmills. Akshay Kumar was amazed to see that. He appreciated me for the stunts and also my stamina. Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan was also very supportive. I wear a ‘kada’ in my hand and he was concerned that it might hurt me.”

Besides Nana Patekar, Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan, Housefull 5 starred Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer and Akashdeep Sabir. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

Originally from Nashik, Tejas Dunbale lives in Mumbai and is an athlete and a fitness trainer. Interestingly, Housefull 5 is not his first film. He added, “I have worked on the song ‘Bom Diggy’ in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018) and also in Gully Boy (2019).”
