Filmmaker Karan Johar, who shares a close bond with Shah Rukh Khan and his family, recently opened up about his admiration for Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama. Reflecting on their upbringing, Johar expressed deep respect for the way Gauri and Shah Rukh have raised their children, calling them “well-mannered, hardworking, and grounded.”

Karan, who is a father to twins Yash and Roohi, said, “My heart is so full of joy that I look at them and I’m like, I want Yash and Roohi to grow up to be Aryan and Suhana, wow. As people, more than anything else. What strong human beings they have been raised to be by Gauri and Shah Rukh. Such good, clean, pure hearts. They are just good children—so well-raised, well-mannered, well-brought up, hardworking, and yet hungry to achieve. That is a combination you don’t find often.”
He further praised their humility despite being born into privilege, adding, “They understand their privilege and never take advantage of it. They’re the simplest kids, who have never asked for more. In fact, Shah Rukh can indulge them and give them everything, but they want to make their own space in the world, and I respect both of them for that immensely.”
Johar also reserved special admiration for Gauri Khan, crediting her instincts and parenting style as a source of inspiration for his own. “A lot of credit goes to Gauri as well. I seek a lot of my parental instincts from her. Her logic—while it amuses me at times—is always right. Gauri Khan is always right. She will foresee something, and it will happen. She’ll say something and I’ll be like, ‘Gauri, that’s not going to happen.’ And bang on—two years later, I’ll say, ‘You were right.’ Even about people—her instinct… in fact, I think Shah Rukh would also acknowledge it. Gauri is quite the spine of that family,” he insisted.
Aryan Khan is currently working on his directorial debut The B**d**s of Bollywood, while Suhana Khan made her acting debut in The Archies two years ago. Both are gradually carving their own paths in the entertainment industry, independent of their superstar father’s legacy.
