On June 10, BTS members Kim Namjoon (RM) and Kim Taehyung (V) officially completed their mandatory military service, stepping back into civilian life. During their discharge speech with media, the duo shared a message that sent ARMYs across the globe into emotional overdrive: “We’ll hurry and make an album, and return to the stage—soon, real soon.”
The reunion was as heartwarming as it was historic.
RM, ever the thoughtful leader, walked out from the military base, surprising waiting fans by playing the saxophone—an instrument he’d been practicing during his service. Moments later, V followed, and the two shared a warm hug before addressing the media. Their camaraderie, smiles, and mutual excitement were a sight for sore eyes after 18 long months away from the stage.
In a message shared with fans shortly after their discharge, RM and V didn’t hesitate when asked what they wanted to do next. RM said, “I believe it’d be the same thing—perform,” to which V added, ““Perform.” RM shared, “We want to have a concert, perform on stage. We’ll hurry and make an album, and return to the stage.” V echoed the sentiments saying, “Soon, real soon.”
It’s a moment that BTS and ARMY have been counting down to. RM and V are the third and fourth members to complete service after Jin and J-Hope, with Jungkook and Jimin following on June 11, and SUGA (serving as a social service worker) to be discharged on June 21. The long-awaited reunion of all seven members is finally within reach.
The timing couldn’t be more symbolic. BTS’ anniversary celebrations, FESTA, take place this week on June 13. Speculation is rife that all members could be seen together publicly at the finale of J-Hope’s “Hope on the Street” tour in Seoul. With Jin already announcing his solo “Run Jin” fanmeet and Jungkook reportedly eyeing a solo tour, the second half of 2025 is set to be a whirlwind of BTS activity.
HYBE stock has already responded—seeing a noticeable spike in the run-up to the group’s reunion, reflecting both fan anticipation and industry expectations. Analysts predict a record-breaking year ahead, with new music, global tours, and perhaps most meaningfully, the restoration of BTS as a seven-member act.
