The honeymoon murder case in Meghalaya has been sending shock waves in the entire nation. For the unversed, Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based transport businessman, got married to Sonam Raghuvanshi on May 11, 2025, and went on a honeymoon, 9 days after their marriage. The duo went missing on May 23, 2025, and after a massive search operation, Raja was found dead, and Sonam surrendered to Meghalaya police on June 8, 2025. Now, amid the various updates coming up in connection to Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder, a pre-wedding moment video, featuring Raja and his relatives has surfaced on the internet.

In the Meghalaya honeymoon case, cops have nabbed the three hired killers and prime suspect, Raja’s wife, Sonam. Some reports claimed that Sonam had surrendered and confessed that she plotted the murder for her husband, while some reports claimed that Sonam calls herself a victim, as she was abducted and abandoned in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. According to multiple reports, there has been also a love triangle angle attached to this murder case. Meanwhile, a fun video from the pre-wedding event of Raja’s marriage to Sonam, surfaced on the internet. In the video, Raja is seen very excited and addresses himself as the dulha. The video also features his sister, sister-in-law, maami and mausi.
Raj Kushwaha, the alleged lover of Sonam Raghuvanshi is one of the hired killers
According to multiple reports, Sonam Raghuvanshi had an alleged affair with Raj Kushwaha. He is one of the three accused whom Sonam hired to murder her husband, Raja. As per a report by News18, Raja’s brother, Vipin, broke his silence and revealed Sonam and Raj’s secret affair, where the duo used to spend a lot of hours speaking over the phone. He also mentioned that Raj was an employee in Sonam’s office. Later, Raja’s mother said that although she didn’t know anything about the alleged lover of Sonam, her parents might know his details. In her words:
“I did not know about Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s parents may know about him.”
Sonam Raghuvanshi was not happy with her marriage with Raja
Just like the pre-wedding fun video, another video has also surfaced on the internet, where Indore couple, Raja Raghuvanshi is seen tying the knot with Sonam Raghuvanshi. In the video, the dulha, Raja, was quite happy and applying sindoor in Sonam’s maang, while the bride, Sonam, was sitting expressionless. After the video went viral, netizens suspected that there might be chances that Sonam was not happy with her marriage.

It all started after the newlyweds set out for their honeymoon trip on May 20, 2025. According to a report by ANI, Raja’s mother said that it was Sonam who planned the trip and booked the tickets. She also mentioned that Sonam didn’t book the return tickets. After going on the trip, on May 23, 2025, the couple went missing. Later, police recovered Raja’s body on June 2, 2025, after 7 days of massive search operation. Now, Meghalaya police have taken Sonam, her alleged lover, Raj and two hired killers in custody in connection to the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case.
