Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-girlfriend told a court on Monday that she cried for three days after reading R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura’s 2023 lawsuit against the music mogul—a case she said mirrored her own traumatic experiences.

The woman, known in court as Jane, testified in Manhattan federal court that reading Cassie’s allegations—which described hundreds of drug-fueled, marathon sex sessions involving Combs and other men—felt like reliving her sexual trauma.

“I felt like I was reading my sexual trauma,” Jane told the jury, adding that she had felt nauseated and broken for days after reading the lawsuit, which was settled within 24 hours for $20 million.

She read aloud a text message she had sent to Combs three days after the lawsuit was filed in November 2023, saying she had been crying continuously.

Three pages of Cassie’s complaint described so-called “freak-offs,” which Jane said mirrored her own “hotel nights” with Combs—“word for word, exactly my experience,” she testified.

Assistant US Attorney Maurene Comey introduced Cassie’s lawsuit during Jane’s third day of testimony. Jane had previously described a three-year relationship with Combs that ended with his arrest in September 2023.

Cassie, who dated Combs for nearly 11 years before their 2018 split, testified earlier in the trial. She said she was regularly made to engage in multi-day sex sessions with male sex workers while Combs watched or filmed.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. If convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison.

Before the Cassie lawsuit was introduced as evidence, Jane had already testified about Combs’ coercive behavior in the weeks leading up to the lawsuit’s filing.

She read aloud text messages exchanged with Combs, in which she protested his actions and pleaded for relief, saying he was pressuring her into sexual encounters by threatening to take back a Los Angeles home he had been paying for.

“I am not an animal,” she wrote in one message, describing the toll the sex marathons were taking on her physical and emotional health.
