NEW DELHI: BJP president JP Nadda on Monday said that the past 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership have marked a “remarkable transformation” in Indian politics, shifting the focus from “appeasement and power preservation” to “performance, accountability, and good governance”.Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Nadda said the last 11 years had seen a decisive shift from politics driven by “appeasement” to one grounded in “performance, accountability, and responsible governance.”“It should be written in golden letters that under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi over the past 11 years, a remarkable transformation has taken place. PM Modi has reshaped the Indian political culture. In the past, politics was often driven by appeasement strategies aimed at preserving power. However, under PM Modi, the focus has shifted to the politics of performance, accountability, and responsible governance. This has now become the new normal,” Nadda said.Calling NDA a “people-led government,” the BJP president claimed that the Modi administration had built a forward-looking, transparent and futuristic governance model.“Modi govt is a people-led government. Over the past years, we have brought transparency and built a forward-looking, futuristic administration. That is why we talk about Viksit Bharat. This is the Amrit Kaal. The past 11 years have laid a strong foundation for a truly developed and self-reliant India.”Nadda drew a contrast between the current government and the UPA regime that preceded it, saying that the pre-2014 era was marked by corruption and negativity.“Before 2014, previous government was full of corruption and a prevailing sense of negativity. But after 2014, under the leadership of PM Modi, that sentiment changed. Now people proudly say, ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’.”He also reiterated the government’s core mantra of inclusive development.“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, we have worked on the core principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” Nadda said.On social justice and inclusion, Nadda highlighted the Modi government’s outreach to marginalised communities and women.“Over the past decade, we have worked with deep concern for all sections of society, including SC, ST, and OBC communities. At the same time, we have actively promoted the vision of Women-Led Development. From empowering Lakhpati Didis to promoting Self-Help Groups (SHGs)—the Modi government has made dedicated efforts to bring women, as well as SC, ST, and OBC communities, into the mainstream of national development,” the BJP chief said.Nadda also listed several bold decisions of the Modi government, including the abolition of Triple Talaq and the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act.“… The Modi Government made the bold decision to abolish Triple Talaq. Another bold decision was the enactment of the New Waqf Act. There are discussions going on. Some other bold decisions include the Citizenship Amendment Act, Demonetisation, 33% Women Reservation…”On India’s economic progress, Nadda said the country had risen significantly in global rankings over the past decade.“In the last 11 years, we jumped to the fifth position from the 10th position in the world’s economies. The new data from the IMF will bring us to the fourth position. We have been the fastest economy in the world…If we talk about Operation Ganga, PM Modi proactively brought back the Indian citizens from Ukraine. Not only Indians but people from other countries also came out of Ukraine showing our flags,” Nadda said. The BJP chief also cited various evacuation and relief missions as examples of PM Modi’s “proactive governance.”“We’ve demonstrated proactive governance through various operations like Operation Devi Shakti, Operation Rahat, Operation Maitri, Operation Vaccine Maitri, and Operation Ganga. Our Covid-19 management was exemplary, with the world’s largest and fastest vaccination program…The way India responded to Covid-19, no other country could do it. In India, PM Modi fought Covid-19 with the support of the Govt. India gave 220 crores free double dose of vaccines,” he added, according to news agency ANI.
