Television actress, Dipika Kakar has been recovering from her 14-hour-long surgery to remove a tennis ball-sized tumour, which was diagnosed as stage-2 liver cancer. After three days in ICU, she was finally out of it, and Shoaib shared the update with his fans. Now, as everyone celebrated Eid al-Adha, Shoaib made sure to make it special for his wife, Dipika, who is fighting liver cancer in the hospital.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Shoaib Ibrahim shared an IG story. In the photo, Shoaib and Dipika were seen holding sagan envelopes, which were sent by the former’s father. Dipika was seen lying in the bed and wearing a hospital wristband in yellow colour, and it was labelled, ‘Fall Risk’. Atop the photo, Shoaib revealed how his father had sent eidi for Dipika and him. The note can be read as, “Dipi aur mere liye papa ki taraf se eidi aaye. Eid Mubarak. (followed by cresent moon and mosque emoji)”
Dipika Kakar’s tumour surgery lasted for 14 hours
For the unversed, Dipika’s surgery was conducted at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. The surgery lasted for 14 hours. In his latest vlog, Shoaib revealed that he dropped her off at the operation theatre at 8:30 in the morning, and she came out only at 11:30 in the night. Soon, she was out of OT, she was rushed to the ICU, where she remained under observation for three days. The actor shared:
“I am extremely grateful to everyone who has showered blessings and prayers for Dipika. Dil se bohot bohot shukriya. Her surgery was successful, and she is safe now. Her tumour is completely out. Dipika’s tumour is now taken for biopsy, and the reports will come in a few days. Please pray that Dipika gets completely recovered, and hopefully, in a few days, Dipika will also get discharged.”
Shoaib also revealed that he started panicking around 6 in the evening as he didn’t have any idea about Dipika’s surgery, and he had never seen such a long surgery in his life. Shoaib was quoted as saying:
“8:30 baje mein Dipika ko OT mein chod ke aaya and 11:30 woh bahar nikli. Mai usse mila, woh bhi direct ICU mein jab usse shift kiya. 6 ya 7 baje ke baad main panic hone laga and sabne ghar pe bhi panic karne lage. Andaar se koi khabar nahi aa rahi thi aur ek ghar mein hota hai na ki ghar mein kisi ne kabhi aise itni lambi surgery dekhi nahi thi.”
Talking about Dipika’s health, Shoaib revealed from the first day of surgery, her health has improved. While she is having pain in her stitches, she is doing better and has started walking. Shoaib shared:
“Alhamdulillah, first day se jo aaj dekha jaye toh woh bohot zyaada behtar hai. Usse ICU se shift kar diya hai, thoda sa pain stitches mein rehta hai woh rahega, but saare chizze better hai. Jo blood report roz ho rahe hai woh thik hai. Dipika ka chalna phirna start ho gaya hai, slowly chal rahi hai, normal diet pe bhi aa gayi hai.”
