Novak Djokovic is eagerly looking forward to facing Jannik Sinner in the semi-final of the French Open 2025. Djokovic was thrilled after his remarkable victory over Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinal as he beat him 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to progress to the semis. It was the 101st victory for the Serbian legend in the French Open as he continues his quest to win first Grand Slam title since 2024.

Following his victory, the three-time winner at the French Open was delighted after beating Zverev but said that he will have to shift his focus to facing Sinner next, who’s at the top of his game.

“At my age, to still be able to play matches at this level, in such an environment, and to beat players like Sascha, it’s incredible. I’m enjoying it, but I’m going to have to start thinking about Jannik (Sinner). He’s almost perfect, but he keeps trying to improve, it’s impressive. It’s going to be extremely difficult, but these are the kind of moments that remind me why I’m still playing,” said Djokovic after his win.

Sinner is on a remarkable run at the Grand Slam events since 2024, being on a 19-match unbeaten run since US Open 2024. He and Djokovic have won four matches each against each other, but Sinner has got the better of the Serbian on last three meetings between the duo, with the last one coming in the final of the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai.

Meanwhile, Djokovic also revealed that he relishes such victories against one of the best in the world, which serves as a testament that he can still play at the highest level.

“Beating one of the best players in the world on the biggest stages is something that I definitely work for, and I still, you know, push myself on a daily basis at this age because of these kinds of matches and these kinds of experiences. It’s a proven kind of testament to myself that I can and to others that I can still play on the highest level,” he said.

Djokovic and Jannik Sinner will face off in the semi-final on Friday, June 6 at Court Philippe-Chatrier. The 38-year-old will be eager to come good against his Italian rival and get one step closer to his 25th Grand Slam title.
