A groom stopped his wedding rituals midway to witness Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning an IPL trophy after 18 years. RCB beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the final of IPL 2025 on Tuesday, June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
As the Bengaluru-based franchise celebrated their historic triumph, several fans all across the nation were also in jubilation, seeing their team get a taste of unprecedented glory. One RCB fan went the extra mile to witness the historic moment as he stopped his wedding rituals to celebrate the momentous occasion along with the other guests.

Coming back to the match, after being put in to bat first, RCB posted a good score of 190/9 in 20 overs with Virat Kohli top scoring with 43 (35), while Jitesh Sharma played a quick-fire cameo of 24 (10). Arshdeep Singh (3/40) and Kyle Jamieson (3/48) picked up three wickets each for Punjab.
In the second innings, PBKS were restricted for 184/7 in 20 overs with Shashank Singh’s heroic knock of 61* (30) ending in vain. Krunal Pandya (2/17) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/38) picked up two wickets each for RCB, while the former was adjudged Player of the Match.
As a result, RCB managed to finally live up to their fan’s hopes and gift them the coveted IPL trophy. Virat Kohli looked extremely emotional as RCB closed in on victory, as he was seen breaking down on the boundary line, fighting back his tears.
