Prabhas is a phenomenal actor who has predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. The actor, with his charm and acting talent, has developed a massive fanbase, which speaks to his presence in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2015. Renowned for his portrayal in Baahubali and Salaar, the actor is all set to appear in the upcoming horror-comedy, The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi.
Prabhas cuts down his fee for The Raja Saab
The Raja Saab is scheduled for release on December 5, 2025, and the fans are thrilled for Prabhas to return to the big screen. However, the actor took us by surprise when he reportedly cut down his paycheck by a massive Rs. 50 crore. Prabhas who usually charges Rs. 150 crore for his projects, chopped down the paycheck to Rs. 100 crore for The Raja Saab.
Prabhas’ decision comes from a sense of accountability. If the reports are to be believed, the actor’s call is influenced by the lukewarm response to his previous film, Adipurush. For the unversed, Prabhas had worked with the same producers, People Media Factory, during Adipurush and they have signed Prabhas again for their project. The film and the actors received a lot of flak and underperformed at the box office.
Prabhas’ other films have performed tremendously at the box office
Despite the indifferent response to Adipurush, fans came forward and supported Prabhas for his other films. The actor appeared in Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, in which he essayed the role of ‘Devaratha (Deva) Raisaar’, aka, ‘Salaar’. The film performed well at the box office, earning over Rs. 600 crore. The actor was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD alongside Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan. Prabhas essayed the role of ‘Bhairava’ and ‘Karna’ in the film. Kalki 2898 AD also garnered nearly Rs. 1,200 crore worldwide.

About Prabhas’ upcoming film, The Raja Saab
The Raja Saab marks a shift for Prabhas as the film takes a turn from his usual action-packed roles and blends it with romance, comedy, and horror, offering a fresh cinematic view of the actor. The film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar in prominent roles. The teaser for the film will be released on June 16, 2025, which has the fans extremely excited. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory, the film is said to be Prabhas’ next big film after Kalki 2898 AD.
The film is all set to hit theatres this December in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, making it a full-on Pan-India treat. As per the official announcement, The Raja Saab will hit theatres worldwide on December 5, 2025. The film is directed by Maruthi, who has previously shown his magic in films like Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Mahanubhavudu, and Manchi Rojulochaie.
