Before the final toss at IPL 2025 between finalists Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Super Kings could occur, rain arrived. However, the rain gods were kind enough to hold the pours, so the highly anticipated match between the well-deserving teams could conclude, turning into a memorable one for either of the teams, with both aiming for their first IPL trophy ever since the 18 years of tournaments.
The match happened, RCB finally won, and it rained again. This time, it was tears. Mostly for the star, Virat Kohli, whose loyalty to the franchise since the inception of the league finally culminated in a trophy win for the very first time.
Another heavy pour that stood out during the final match was that of fashion. From Anushka Sharma to Preity Zinta and former First Lady of the UK, Akshata Murty, there was an impressive rain of style in the stands.
Anushka, for instance, took the classy route in a foolproof white shirt and blue jeans combo. It wasn’t without a touch of glam, though.
She wore an oversized white shirt from Alexander Wang, a comfy choice, we must say, paired with pearl and rhinestone-embellished blue jeans. A perfect way to elevate a simple and elegant ensemble.
For jewellery, she opted for eye-catching diamond earrings, a stack of bracelets and a Rolex watch. She skipped makeup as she joined thousands of spectators in the stadium to cheer for her husband, Virat Kohli.
Though Preity Zinta’s team didn’t win the trophy, she came dressed for victory. A proper Punjabi salwar suit with a Phulkari dupatta was her pick for the night.
Another fashionable appearance came from Akshata Murty, who was accompanied by her husband and former UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. The couple cheered for Bengaluru, the city where she previously lived and tied the knot with Sunak.
Known for her elegant dressing, Murty wore a striking red full-length dress with matching flats. Monotone fashion, for the win!
Talking about sartorial game at the IPL 2025 finals cannot be complete without mentioning cricket legend Chris Gayle’s tribute to both RCB and PBKS, the teams he has played for in the past. He put together an outfit featuring elements from both teams.
While Gayle was seen sporting an RCB jersey at the team hotel, the West Indies great was also wearing a turban, signalling his support for Punjab Kings. A meaningful fashion statement, we say!
