Actor Zeeshan Ayyub recently opened up about his experience working with Shah Rukh Khan. In a candid conversation on The Majlis Show, Ayyub offered a rare glimpse into the personal side of the superstar. Having shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in two films, including Rahul Dholakia’s Raees, Ayyub recounted a touching moment from the sets that still stays with him. During a promotional event for Raees, the team had ordered custom sweatshirts for everyone. However, Ayyub’s sweatshirt was missing.

“I asked, ‘Hey, where’s mine?’ and Shah Rukh sir overheard,” he recalled. “He went inside, brought one out, and said, ‘Here, it’s just a bit of a size issue, try it on.’ I realized it was his sweatshirt. When I protested, he said, ‘No, it’s yours. Keep it.’”
For Ayyub, the gesture was more than just about clothing, it was a reflection of Shah Rukh’s innate generosity and attentiveness. “It was one of the most beautiful moments of my life,” he said. “It showed how thoughtful and grounded he is.”
But the admiration didn’t stop at one moment. Ayyub spoke at length about Shah Rukh Khan’s character, noting how his humility and grace leave a lasting impression. “As you spend more time with him, you realize you haven’t seen better manners or conduct in any person. He’s educated, wise, aware, and remembers people. You might not even like his films, but as a person, you can’t deny how good he is.”
Ayyub also spoke about Khan’s egalitarian approach. “He treats everyone as an equal. That’s his philosophy. He doesn’t believe anyone is a ‘nobody’. Everyone deserves respect.”
Another moment that left Ayyub deeply moved came during the promotions of Zero in 2018, when Shah Rukh Khan publicly tweeted about him. The unexpected praise triggered an outpouring of congratulatory messages and phone calls from industry peers. “I was stunned,” Ayyub admitted. “He didn’t have to do it, but he did.”
