Actor Rana Daggubati returns in the titular role of Rana Naidu, playing the mysterious and unpredictable gangster-turned-family man who can’t escape the world of crime. The trailer for ‘Rana Naidu 2’, released on June 3, teases a grittier, more action-packed crime drama layered with intense family dynamics. The new season of the action-thriller series also introduces several new characters.
The two-minute, 45-second trailer starts with Rana’s wife Naina Naidu, played by Surveen Chawla, asking him to quit the world of crime. While he tries hard to convince her that he has moved away from all his criminal acquaintances and dealings, the visuals reflect a different story.
Rana is shown single-handedly beating up goons with his cricket bat. His conflicted relationship with his father Naga Naidu, portrayed by Venkatesh Daggubati, and brothers Tej and Pawan essayed by Sushant Singh and Abhishek Banerjee respectively, is also depicted in the trailer. Double-crossing and infidelity add up to the moral complexities in ‘Rana Naidu 2.’
Rana’s life gets upside down as he struggles to keep a promise to his wife while an unknown enemy played by Arjun Rampal emerges. He is shown hitting Rana with his own bat, while threatening to destroy him. The trailer ends with Rana assuring Naina that he is not a criminal any more with a glimpse of deadly hand-to-hand combat between him and Arjun’s character.
The series is an official adaptation of the American crime drama ‘Ray Donovan’. It is directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma, and produced by Sunder Aaron under the banner of Locomotive Global Inc. The first season of ‘Rana Naidu’ was released in April 2023.
‘Rana Naidu 2’ also features Kriti Kharbanda, Dino Morea, Rajat Kapoor and others in pivotal characters. The show will be available for streaming on Netflix from June 13 onwards.
‘Rana Naidu 2’ can be watched in Telugu and Hindi.
