However, there has been a buzz surrounding his exit from No Entry 2, the much-anticipated sequel of the 2005 hit comedy, No Entry. The sequel also stars Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. There were speculations that Diljit stepped down from No Entry 2 due to creative differences. Following the rumours, now director, Anees Bazmee broke his silence and addressed the buzz.
No Entry 2 director, Anees Bazmee, reacts to the buzz surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s exit
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, the director of No Entry 2, Anees Bazmee, broke his silence and reacted to the buzz surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s exit. He said that during their last meeting, the Good Newwz actor had some date issues, and thus, they had a discussion in the presence of Boney Kapoor, who is the producer of this project. He also mentioned that as No Entry 2 is a big film, everything surrounding it becomes news, and he is well habituated to it. Sharing details from his last meeting with Diljit, Anees said:
“Our last meeting, which was the second time that we met, lasted for 10 minutes. We were discussing his dates because there was a bit of back and forth. He told me that he’s trying to work out his dates. Boney ji was also there. Since it’s a big film, everything that happens makes news. I’m used to do these things and I don’t let such things bother me. Main kabhi safaiyaan nahi deta. Jo hona hai, woh hi hoga aur jo hoga, achcha hi hoga.”
No Entry 2 producer, Boney Kapoor earlier addressed the buzz
On May 15, 2025, No Entry 2 producer, Boney Kapoor addressed the buzz in an interview with The Times Entertainment. Reacting to the rumour around Diljit’s exit, Boney Kapoor shared that there were date issues, but there were no creative clashes. Addressing the buzz, Boney said:
“Yes, there are date issues, but certainly no creative differences. That is absolutely false. We are trying our best to work the dates out.”
Anees Bazmee recalls his first interaction with Diljit Dosanjh and how he agreed to the project
Further in the interview, the director, Anees Bazmee, recalled the time when he first met Diljit Dosanjh. The director also praised the Amar Singh Chamkila actor, and called him an honest human being. Addressing the same, Anees Bazmee said:
“Diljit is a very honest human being and he’s a very talented actor. In all my life, I’ve met him for just 20 minutes. The first time I met him was when I went to narrate the script to him. He didn’t even listen to the full script. He told me, ‘Kahaani samajh aa gayi hai. Aap picture bana rahe hai. Teen heroes hai. Comedy hai. No Entry dekh ke hum kitne hasse hai.’ And he instantly agreed to do the film. He’s such a simple guy.”
