Netflix’s new docuseries “Power Moves With Shaquille O’Neal” lands on the streaming service on Wednesday. Produced by O’Neal’s Jersey Legends banner, the six-episode series follows O’Neal and Allen Iverson — now president and vice president of Reebok Basketball — open the doors to strategy meetings, design labs and candid conversations as they revive a storied brand.

“I’ve always said Reebok was never number one but never number three,” O’Neal said, underscoring both the challenge and the legacy at stake.

Here’s what to expect from the Netflix docuseries.

“Power Moves” Episode Breakdown: Six Chapters of Reebok’s Revival

Across its six parts, the series first revisits Reebok’s ’90s heyday as O’Neal and Iverson recall landmark athlete signings and early momentum. It then follows the team through every stage of creating the Engine A — think sketches, material testing and prototype tweaks — before chronicling their outreach to marquee names like Angel Reese and their attempt to court Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. The finale tracks the Engine A’s debut campaign shoots, initial feedback and the strategy for cementing Reebok Basketball’s future.

Showrunner Ian Gelfand and executive producers, including O’Neal, Colin Smeeton and Jamie Renberg, document everything from raw concept pitches to colorway debates.

“My partner, Jamie Salter, he purchased it. Back then we didn’t have as much competition as we have now, so there’s a lot of competition and it’s just fun,” O’Neal says, and you’ll see that mix of high stakes and off-the-cuff humor firsthand.

“Power Moves” Key Players: Shaq, Iverson, Angel Reese and Reebok Insiders

Since October 2023, O’Neal has served as Reebok Basketball’s president, with Iverson as vice president. Alongside them, chief operating officer Todd Krinsky keeps timelines on track, while senior vice president Portia Blunt orchestrates athlete signings — like Reese, whom O’Neal calls “the portal to these youngsters.”

O’Neal praised Blunt’s instincts: “One of my favorite people in the office.…She says, ‘You have a relationship with Angel, we should sign her.’ Basically, I did what she said.”

O’Neal admits his biggest classroom has been home. “My son had to let me know that Gen Z doesn’t do high-tops anymore,” he previously told WWD. That lesson helped shape the Engine A’s bold colorways and sleek profile.

Reese anchors the athlete roster — Reebok’s Style Influencer of the Year for 2024 — and is featured throughout the series. You also catch O’Neal and Iverson making late-night calls to prospects like Gilgeous-Alexander before he ultimately chose Converse.

All six installments of “Power Moves” premiere globally on Netflix on Wednesday. Each episode drops simultaneously, so viewers can binge the full comeback story in one sitting. Watch the trailer below:
