Call her the queen of comfort. Queen Letizia of Spain proved once again you don’t have to sacrifice ease for style, while at the Madrid Book Fair.

The Spanish royal stepped out on Friday in a pair of block heel sandals and an airy midi dress. Queen Letizia wore Hugo BossMelanie 50 Block Heel Sandals in white, consisting of a low heel, three straps across the vamp and an ankle strap. She coordinated the polished walking shoes with Hugo Boss’ minimalistic floral dress that features a double belt at the cinched waist and short sleeves, and a pair of drop pearl earrings.

Her appearance at the inauguration of the Madrid Book Fair is not the first time she’s worn the Hugo Boss shoes — or the dress. Queen Letizia wore them throughout summer of 2024, for the Princess of Girona Awards with an asymmetrical beige dress from Mango and a small white bucket bag with a gold chain strap from Carolina Herrera. She also wore the block heel sandals while attending the annual directors meeting of the Instituto Cervantes centers in a fuchsia floral midi shirt dress from Carolina Herrera, with the brand’s small shoulder bag and a pair of drop pearl earrings from Tous. Not to mention, the block heels made another appearance when she was on hosting duty at Zarzuela Palace with representatives from the Spanish Association of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, where she paired the shoes with a pleated white blouse, black trousers and gold hoop earrings.

As for her Hugo Boss floral dress, Queen Letizia previously stepped out in the frock to meet with representatives from the newspaper La Razón at Zarzuela Palace. During that occasion, she wore the dress with beige espadrille wedges from Macarena.

Queen Letizia is a noted fan of espadrille wedge shoes — specifically beige ones, as earlier this week she stepped out in a different pair with another floral midi shirt dress. The royal paired the two together with a cobalt blue clutch that picked up on the eye-popping color in her shirt dress, while on a visit to Guadalupe on Wednesday.

When it comes to footwear, Queen Letizia often steps out in fresh and cozy yet polished combinations, such as sneakers with suits. Last May, she paired a linen suit with white sneakers for a meeting with the patronage of The Gallery of the Royal Collections in Madrid.
