    Fans felt nostalgic when The Academy shared a clip from the popular Lagaan song, ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’. On its official Instagram page, The Academy, known for awarding the Oscars annually, posted the video showcasing lead actors Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh. Lagaan was released in theatres in 2001.

    Along with the clip, the post was captioned, “Love, longing and a little bit of fire in her eyes. Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh performing ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’ (vocals by Asha Bhosale and Udit Narayan) from Ashutosh Gowariker’s Lagaan. The film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film (India) at the 74th Oscars.”

    Responding to the post, one fan remarked, “A Hindu prayer song performed by a Muslim, written by a Muslim, composed by a Muslim. Welcome to India, folks.” Another person wrote, “Lagaan is simply ICONIC: the story, the dialogues, the cinematography, the background score, the music, and of course the performances from the entire cast. A true classic of Hindi cinema.” One comment stated, “Legendary movie and musical score.”

    An Instagram user commented, “This song and dance performance is awesome.” Another fan said, “Lagaan was groundbreaking! This soundtrack is amazing!” Someone else wrote, “This movie deserved Oscars!!!” Another comment read, “Can’t believe it’s been 25 years. Such an iconic movie. Feeling nostalgic.” One fan asked, “Musicals used to be so good, what happened to the game?” Meanwhile, a social media user declared, “Best song ever.”

    Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) is an epic period musical sports drama directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and earned widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences. It was reportedly produced on a budget of Rs. 25 crores.

    The film also featured Suhasini Mulay, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajendra Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Rajesh Vivek, Raj Zutshi, Akhilendra Mishra, Daya Shankar Pandey, and Yashpal Sharma. Additionally, British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne also appeared in the movie.
