Maa’s trailer begins in an eerie setting where Kajol is seen driving through a forest with her daughter. They reach a mysterious village where young girls have been vanishing for some time, and Kajol’s daughter befriends a local girl who tells her about some demons. Out of curiosity, she ventures into the forest and gets dragged away by that demon, ‘Doito’, who lives in a big tree.
It is followed by an intruding tale where Kajol fights and investigates the matter and fights supernatural powers to save her daughter. At the same time, there is a backdrop of mythology which reveals that the demon needs the blood of girls for sacrifice, which adds a chilling edge to the story. The film is a fight between a mother and an evil, which is a part of the Shaitaan universe, which earlier starred Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan in significant roles.

Revealing the same, a netizen penned, “Have you guys noticed that in the end credits of the trailer, every person’s name has their mother’s name with it?” For instance, Ajay Devgn was credited as ‘Ajay Veena Devgn’ and Jyoti Subbarayan was credited as ‘Jyoti Santha Subbarayan’.
