An elderly woman, who was not in good health, died after attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Bihar’s Rohtas district due to heat. The woman was identified as Kesari Devi.
Despite her family’s repeated warnings and her poor health, she insisted on attending the roadshow held at Durga Deeh on a hot and humid day.
According to family members, her condition worsened after the event on Friday evening. She was immediately taken to a government hospital in Bikramganj, where she died during treatment.
Kesari Devi was the wife of Lali Singh. Her son, Ajay Kumar Singh, said that she had not been keeping well but was determined to attend the Prime Minister’s roadshow. The party had even issued her a pass to enter the venue.
He added that the family received a call from the administration around 5 pm on Friday. They were asked to come down to a hospital and were informed Kesari Devi had died following the roadshow in Rohtas.
Local police have sent her body to a hospital in Sasaram for post-mortem examination.
