US President Donald Trump hosted a grand Oval Office farewell for Elon Musk on Friday, as the world’s richest man ended his turbulent reign as the government’s cost-cutter-in-chief.
Despite stepping down from his official role overseeing the US DOGE Service, Musk made it clear his relationship with Trump is far from over. “This is not the end of DOGE; I will continue to be a friend and advisor to President Trump,” Musk said during the event, signaling that his influence will persist behind the scenes.
