Gelo is ready to stamp his rookie of the year season with a slam dunk. The “Tweaker” rapper announced on Thursday (May 29) that his debut album, League of My Own, is slated to arrive on June 27 via Def Jam Records.
The 26-year-old continued his winning streak with the release of his “Booted Up” single. The thumping 2000s-themed track serves as the fourth single to land on Gelo’s debut, following his breakout hit “Tweaker,” “Law N Order” and “Can You Please” featuring GloRilla.
According to Apple Music, League of My Own will boast 13 tracks in total. Gelo also released a black-and-white trailer for the album, which finds him flexing his icy jewelry while “Booted Up” provides the soundtrack.
“Booted up, fresher, then I f—-d a ho/ And I swear they can’t f–k with us,” he raps with another catchy chorus.
GELO was featured as Billboard‘s Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month in February, and relayed in the interview that his primary goal for 2025 was to “have the biggest album out and be one of the biggest rappers. The top rapper.”
The former NBA G-League player became rap’s unlikely star in January when he served up the first hip-hop hit of 2025 with “Tweaker,” which quickly went viral and spread like wildfire from NEON’s stream to NBA and NFL locker rooms. Lil Wayne even hopped on the remix.
“Tweaker” peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified gold by the RIAA. The track also topped the TikTok Top 50 Viral Chart, and the official music video has 19 million views on YouTube.
