Delhi Police has arrested 37-year-old Himanshu Arora for blackmailing, cyberstalking, and sexually exploiting a woman over a period of three years. Arora is a Delhi University graduate, is married and has a 12-year-old daughter.
The ordeal began when Arora befriended the woman on Instagram. What started as a digital friendship soon turned into an exploitative trap. Under psychological pressure, the victim was coerced into sharing private photos and videos with him.
Arora then created at least nine fake Instagram profiles using her intimate content. Through these accounts, he sent her sexually explicit messages, threats, and extortion demands. The victim began receiving harassing messages and emails, not just through Instagram but also via Gmail.
Taking his harassment further, Arora forced the victim into live video calls over Instagram and Google Meet to coerce and intimidate her. He demanded Rs 1 lakh and issued threats of acid attack, kidnapping, and harm to her family.
Moreover, in an attempt to instil fear, he also fabricated legal notices — falsely claiming the victim was named in FIRs and even linked to a murder case.
