Fans of Sidhu Moosewala gathered in Punjab’s Mansa district on Thursday to commemorate the singer’s third death anniversary. A prayer meeting took place at the farmhouse where Moosewala’s remains were cremated. The singer’s family, along with others, also participated in the event.

A video that surfaced on social media shows Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur, arriving at the venue to pay her respects. She was also seen holding her newborn, Shubhdeep, in her arms. During the prayer meeting, Charan Kaur became emotional, and videos capturing her tearful moments have been widely shared online. One clip shows her breaking down, while another depicts women comforting her.
Sidhu Moosewala, who ran unsuccessfully as a Congress candidate in the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from Mansa, was tragically killed on May 29, 2022. He was shot by attackers while in his car in Jawaharke village, Mansa district. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical treatment.
After Moosewala’s murder, his parents took the lead in a movement demanding justice for their son. A music video was also released, prominently featuring a flag bearing the message “Justice for Sidhu Moosewala.”
Sidhu Moosewala was especially popular with the youth and was known for writing and producing his own music. He was considered one of the richest Punjabi singers. Even after his untimely death, many of his songs have been released posthumously, garnering millions of views.
Two years after Moosewala’s death, in 2024, his brother Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu was born. The baby was born to Sidhu Moosewala’s parents, Balkaur Singh and Charan Kaur, through in vitro fertilization (IVF). Charan Kaur was 58 years old at the time, which sparked controversy over the use of IVF technology. Since then, the family has shared pictures and videos of the baby, including his debut public appearance on a billboard in Times Square, New York.
