Salehe Bembury is going back on his word, preparing to release a shoe he previously said would never be available to the public.

The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog “Tree Camo” will go on sale early in June. After receiving numerous inquiries about the camouflage shoe when it first surfaced, Bembury said in 2022 that it was exclusive to friends and family and would never release to the public. But in this case, fans will be quite happy having found out they’d been lied to.

A pattern of branches and leaves makes up the entirety of the shoe’s foam, while its canvas strap appears in tan to match the rubber outsole and continue the nature theme. From the silhouette’s launch in 2021, Bembury has intended the Pollex Clog to be worn outdoors. Although many of the colorways released since have been tied to landscapes, none invoke the outdoors quite as much as the long-awaited “Tree Camo” edition.

In addition to the Pollex Clog, Bembury showed his Juniper sneaker in “Tree Camo” almost a year ago to the date. Confirmation of a release for that shoe is still yet to surface.

On the back of the Pollex Clog and the Pollex slide the succeeded it, Bembury and Crocs were recognized for Collection of the Year at the 2023 FN Achievement Awards. In a Footwear News story on the award, Bembury said upon learning that he’d be the first Crocs collaborator to design an original mold: “I immediately did the Grinch smile and Birdman hand rub and said yes.”

Since then, his Crocs line has grown to include the Juniper sneaker and Saru Clog, the latter of which is a strapless hybrid of the Pollex Clog and the Classic Clag.

Many eyes are also on Bembury awaiting his design for Tyrese Haliburton’s signature shoe debut at Puma.

The Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog “Tree Camo” will release June 5 through Bembury’s Be a Spunge website. Pricing has not yet been confirmed, but the Pollex Clog typically retails for $85.
