Tell us about yourself and how you and your partner met
I’m from Spain, north of Barcelona. I met Breanna Stewart in Russia in 2018. We played together overseas. Long story short, she ruptured her tendon, and that’s actually how we started talking. Maybe it was a competition thing.
What bag do you have, and what do you keep in there on game day?
It’s a black Saint Laurent crossbody bag, but I have two different bags for daily use because I’m a mom of two; so I have a tote bag full of random things. For game day, I keep it simple because of the bag policy at Barclays. We love it there. I keep my house keys, hand sanitizer, my headphones, sunglasses, hand cream, and sometimes, lots of snacks.

Do you have any superstitions?
I used to. I gave up things like Oh I have to wear the same socks every day, or we’ll lose the game. Now that I don’t play anymore, I feel free.
What’s your favorite way to celebrate a win?
After last year’s championship, we celebrated for an entire week. We went to Spain after the celebration and when we came back we found an apple pie in the freezer. We were like, Oh how did that get there?
Did you eat the pie?
No! We didn’t know where it came from. But that’s how good the celebration was.
How do you create your game day outfits?
I like to keep it simple, comfortable, but chic. We’re in New York and I love fashion, so for me, I just want to be comfortable but with a little bit of New York edge.
