The shoot of Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited gangster drama ‘They Call Him OG’ has been temporarily halted after Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi was diagnosed with dengue. Based on reports, the actor was filming his portions in Mumbai when he began showing symptoms. Subsequent medical tests confirmed the diagnosis, leading doctors to advise complete rest for full recovery.
According to Bollywood Hungama, sources close to the production have revealed that Emraan immediately informed the makers about his condition. The team has decided to pause the shoot for now, ensuring the actor takes the time required for a full recovery. Emraan is expected to be under rest for at least a week before returning to set.
The film, directed by Sujeeth of ‘Saaho’ fame, features Pawan Kalyan in the lead role. Touted to be a high-octane gangster action drama, ‘They Call Him OG’, also known as ‘OG’, follows the story of a feared gangster who has mysteriously disappeared from the streets of Mumbai, only to resurface with vengeance in his heart. The narrative promises to blend intense action with emotional depth, set against the backdrop of the Mumbai underworld.
Emraan Hashmi plays the primary antagonist in the film, marking his debut in Telugu cinema. The ensemble cast also includes Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and Sriya Reddy, among others. Produced on a grand scale, the film is slated for a theatrical release on September 25.
Emraan was last seen in ‘Ground Zero’, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar. He will also be seen next in ‘G2’, the sequel to Adivi Sesh’s spy thriller ‘Goodachari’.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and actor, Pawan Kalyan, is gearing up for the release of ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu‘ on June 12. He also has ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ lined up for release later.
