Whitney have announced a North American tour. The Chicago band will begin the trek on June 12, in Cleveland, before stopping in Boston, Salt Lake City, and elsewhere. Whitney are currently slated to wrap things up on August 15 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. See their tour dates below.
Along with the tour news, Whitney have released the song “Darling,” their first new music since 2023. Listen to the track below.
Speaking of “Darling” in press materials, Whitney’s Max Kakacek and Julien Ehrlich said: “There’s something to be said for a two-minute-or-less gem that aims for the heart. Songs like ‘Gonna Hurry’ by Dolly Parton and ‘Take Care’ by Big Star come to mind—poignantly written goodbyes emphasized by the fact that both songs are over as quick as they started. In the case of ‘Darling’ the song transitions into a second act that serves to accept a goodbye instead of leaving it up in the air, but we think the song ultimately feels like it’s over too soon in the best way possible.”
Whitney released their most recent studio LP, Spark, in September 2022.
