Netflix announces The Royals Season 2
Earlier, this month, Netflix released The Royals, and now the OTT giant announced the Season 2 of the series. For the unversed, on May 9, 2025, Netflix released The Royals, starring, Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. Taking to their official X handle (formerly Twitter), Netflix shared a poster with a caption. The caption can be read as:
“Old money, new blood and a new season is in the works. The Royals Season 2 is coming soon, only on Netflix.”

Soon after Netflix announced the upcoming season of The Royals, netizens rushed to the comment section to share their views. The common thing that we found in the netizens’ comments was the replacement of Bhumi Pednekar in The Royals Season 2. One X user wrote, “Replace bhoomi, please”, and another user tweeted, “#BhumiPednekar ko cast karoge to nahi dekhenge.”
Ishaan Khatter earlier gave a hint of The Royals Season 2
For the uninitiated, Ishaan played the role of ‘Maharaja Aviraaj Singh’ a.k.a ‘Fizzy’ in The Royals. His character loved activities like driving, swimming, and horse riding. In a recent interview with Filmfare, Ishaan Khatter was seen marking his attendance along with his co-stars, Bhumi Pednekar, Vihaan Samat and Lisa Mishra. In the same interview, Lisa, who played ‘Niki Kaushik’ in The Royals, jokingly said that Ishaan’s character only had one stunt action left to do, which was stepping out from a helicopter. Following Lisa’s joke, Ishaan’s remark dropped a hint of the upcoming season, The Royals Season 2. In his words:
“I would do that in Season 2.”

The story of The Royals surrounds a financially struggling family in modern India. The series starts with the introduction of the heir of Morpur, ‘Aviraaj Singh’, a.k.a ‘Fizzy’, played by Ishaan.
