She dressed to impress.
On Tuesday evening, Michelle Obama slipped into a black ruffled set for a date night with husband Barack in New York City, marking the couple’s first public outing in six months.
The former first lady oozed sophistication in a Zimmermann V-neck top ($650 $490) with long sheer sleeves and a matching tiered midi skirt ($724 $545).
She accented the frock with coordinating black pointy-toe slingback pumps, a rectangular black leather clutch, silver oversized hoops and chunky bangles.
Pictured leaving the Lowell Hotel restaurant with Barack in tow, the “Becoming” author wore her hair in a long braided ponytail and went with a smoky eye.
Barack, for his part, suited up in a matching all-black casual suit look and dress shoes.
This isn’t the first time the “IMO” podcast host has worn the two-piece look; her stylist, Meredith Koop, posted a close-up of the outfit, styled with different accessories, on her Instagram page while sharing a roundup of Obama’s outfits from SXSW 2025 in March.
The couple, who have been married for 33 years, shut down ongoing divorce rumors with their romantic night out in the Big Apple.
Speculations of marital woes began in January when Michelle skipped President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and President Trump’s inauguration.
However, earlier this month, for Mother’s Day, Barack shouted out his wife in a sweet Instagram post, captioned, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms and mother-figures! @MichelleObama, the girls and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. We love you.”
Their matching monochromatic looks appear to send a message to haters.
