    Darren Criss & Renée Elise Goldsberry to Cohost ‘The Tony Awards: Act One’

    First-time Tony nominee and Primetime Emmy winner Darren Criss and Tony and Grammy winner Renée Elise Goldsberry will cohost The Tony Awards: Act One, a live pre-show with exclusive content that is available to viewers for free on Pluto TV beginning on Sunday, June 8, from 6:40-8 p.m. ET/3:40-5 p.m. PT.

    Criss, 38, received his first Tony Award nomination this year for best performance by an actor in a musical for his performance in Maybe Happy Ending. Goldsberry, 54, won a Tony Award for originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in Hamilton. She is set to release her debut album, Who I Really Am, this June.

    Viewers can access The Tony Awards: Act One on their smart TV, streaming device, mobile app or online by going to Pluto TV and clicking on the Live Music channel, found within the Entertainment category on the service.

    Immediately following Act One, the 78th Annual Tony Awards will broadcast live to both coasts from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on CBS, and streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.

    This year’s Tony broadcast, hosted for the first time by Tony, Emmy, and Grammy-winner Cynthia Erivo, will return to Radio City Music Hall in New York City for the first time in three years.

    The Tony Awards are produced in collaboration with Tony Award Productions and White Cherry Entertainment. Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss are executive producers and showrunners for White Cherry Entertainment. Weiss will also serve as director.

    Julianne Hough and Utkarsh Ambudkar cohosted last year’s The Tony Awards: Act One. Ariana DeBose hosted the main telecast the last three years.
