Two Los Angeles-based creatives have joined forces.

Olivia Spralja, co-owner of Silver Springs — a hot Pilates and vinyasa yoga studio — and Amanda Amorim Apramian, creator of swimwear label Aubrey Swims, have designed a limited-edition bikini together: a vibrant orange triangle top and string bottom, for $120 each, adored with blue beads.

It’s crafted from recycled microfiber. “The softest you can make,” said Apramian, a regular at the studio where they first connected. “We have the same taste.”

French visual artist Henri Matisse is a reference for both; they bring together bold color with expressive simplicity in their works. For Apramian, it’s reflected in her swimwear’s silhouettes and detailing — figure-enhancing, high-cut legs that nod to the ’90s. Born in Toronto, she grew up on the sun-soaked beaches of southern Portugal (where her family originates), often watching old cassette tapes of her mother, once crowned Miss Portugal, competing in pageants.

“It was all beach,” she said of her childhood. Later, she lived in seaside Rio de Janeiro before eventually moving to L.A. where she created the brand about a year ago while working as a lawyer in real estate. “I’ve always been a creative at heart, just stuck in a very linear profession,” she smiled.

With Spralja, originally from Toronto, the aesthetic is seen in her design-forward and art-filled studio. Silver Springs feels like a hideaway in West Hollywood, tucked inside an entrance covered in ivy.

“It’s either collected from auction sites or flea markets,” she said of the selection. She unveiled Silver Springs two years ago. “Literally everything is hand-picked.”

Minimal, it’s warm and showcases works by Gene Allcott, Enrico Baj, Tom Lieber and Julia Williams (Spralja’s mother-in-law). Her classes are often packed, with two studio spaces and about 500 members, drawing both women and men. Along with Aubrey Swims, she carries beauty brands like Crown Affair and Magic Molecule, and wellness products like Dr. Stolberg’s teas and Magna electrolytes.

“It’s so important to work with people you love and respect, and when those things align, you think, ‘Why wouldn’t I sell this?’” said Spralja.

Spralja is launching a line of her own with crewnecks, hoodies, sweatpants and T-shirts made in L.A., aiming for a summer release alongside an online store. The demand is already there; she’s been offering vintage releases (curated, hand-printed pieces) that have drawn early-morning crowds.

“We dropped 100 a couple weeks ago, and people were here at 6 a.m. Everything sold out in three hours,” she said. “It was crazy.”

Meanwhile Apramian has just released Aubrey Swims’ summer 2025 collection, featuring zebra prints and polka dot motifs, with balconette-cut tops and cheeky bottoms. Next, she’s releasing resort wear and looks to expand her reach.

“I’d like to get onto an online retailer,” she said. “I think that would be a great next step for the brand.”
