The King of romance, Shah Rukh Khan, is still madly in love with his high school sweetheart, Gauri. The actor, who fell in love with Gauri at the age of 18 once stated that she was the only girl he was smitten by. Though the couple hailed from different religious backgrounds, it took a lot of time for the actor to convince Gauri’s family for their marriage.
After a lot of ups and downs, Gauri and Shah Rukh Khan got married on October 25, 1991 as per Hindu rituals. Together they are proud parents to three adorable kids, Aryan, Suhana and AbRam. Rather than being just a star wife, Gauri has created a niche for herself in the design industry and has also produced some blockbuster movies. The most sought-after couple of the glamour world, Shah Rukh and Gauri, have been with each other through all the highs and lows.
Shah Rukh Khan was threatened by Gauri’s brother
Shah Rukh Khan shares a very special relationship with Gauri’s brother, Vikrant Chibber. In a throwback interview with Kapil Sharma, Shah Rukh talked about his equation with Vikrant and stated how he would threaten him while SRK was seeing Gauri. He warned Shah Rukh to never indulge in any ‘hanky panky’ with Gauri.
In the same interaction, Shah Rukh told Kapil that although both of them belonged to Delhi and were the thugs and indulged in fights, Shah Rukh was polite to Vikrant. Recalling how he once threatened him with a gun, SRK recalled:
“Wo apne aap ko school ka bada dada samjhte the. Wo jab milta tha gundagardi dikhate the. Mai unse tameez se milta tha. Ek baar usne mujhe bola tereko maloom hai katta kya hota hai? Maine kaha nahi ji mujhe nahi maloom katta kya hota hai, mujhe maloom tha.”
Gauri Khan revealed how her brother wanted to beat Shah Rukh Khan
In a 1994 interview with Filmfare, Gauri said that her brother, Vikrant is very cool and extremely possessive about his sister. Gauri added that Vikrant used to get red, and he had murder on his mind if he ever got a glimpse of Shah Rukh looking at Gauri. In the same interview, Gauri further mentioned that her brother, Vikrant Chibber used to threaten Shah Rukh Khan, that he would beat him up.
Gauri was in grade 9th when she fell in love with Shah Rukh, who was in grade 12th. In the same interaction, she said that such threats surely left Shah Rukh irritated, but he had never said anything, considering Vikrant was his wife’s brother. Speaking along the same lines, Gauri said:
“He’d scream, ‘I’ll beat you to pulp, I’ll bash you up.’ The threats must have irritated Shah Rukh no end, but since he was my brother Shah Rukh would just nod and say, ‘Yeah, yeah whatever you say.”
We all know how films play an important role in Shah Rukh’s life, King Khan has also gone on record in many media interactions and stated that if ever he is asked to make a choice between his career and Gauri, he’ll leave films for her. We have seen how King Khan had made a niche for himself in Bollywood without a ‘Khandaan’ to back him. It is Gauri, who had believed in his dreams and had supported him throughout.
