Britani Bateman is being accused of owing her former mother-in-law $100,000.

Sandra Underwood — the mother of Bateman’s ex-husband John Scott Underwood — accused the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star of using the money for herself and failing to pay her back, according to court documents obtained by Page Six Monday.

Per the paperwork filed May 6, Sandra, 87, claimed that Bateman, 53, took the money that had been deposited into a family trust and used it for “her own personal benefit.”

“Britani willfully, maliciously and through intentionally fraudulent conduct, also converted Plaintiff’s funds and now refuses to repay the funds,” the complaint states, adding that Bateman “has been unjustly enriched.”

In March, Sandra’s attorney had sent Bateman a letter asking her to return the $100,000. However; Sandra claimed in the filing that “to date [she has] not yet received the return of my money.”

According to the letter, which was included as an exhibit in the filing, Sandra received $338,889.31 after she sold her West Valley Utah home.

Shortly after and allegedly “at the urging of Britani,” Sandra deposited $100,000 into the trust with the understanding that she could “request it to be withdrawn at anytime” and that it would “be returned without any objection.”

The trust, titled “Integrity Trust,” was created in 2019 by Bateman’s dad Melvin Merrill Martin as the settlor, while she and her mom Cathie were designated as trustees. Cathie passed away years ago, according to the letter, and John was named as the successor trustee.

“As Britani knows, Sandra is in her 80s and as she has aged, her cost of living has gone up mostly because of health issues which most elderly people experience,” the letter states.

Lawyers argued that Sandra’s “limited income” of approximately $1,600 is “not sufficient” to cover the costs of her medical care and prescription needs.

John’s mom is asking that Bateman, “out of simple decency and morality,” fork over the $100,000, “plus interest at the statutory rate prescribed by law” and cover any attorney fees.

Bateman and John — who finalized their divorce in October 2023 after seven years of marriage — have had their fair share of legal drama in recent years.

The Bravolebrity accused John of becoming “very controlling and abusive” during their marriage in a $2.5 million lawsuit filed last October, the Daily Mail reported. She also claimed he demanded that they have sex multiple times a day.

Months later, Bateman claimed John drained their shared bank account and cut her out of their joint business ventures.

Bateman did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
