The Disney connection is strong.
Demi Lovato married fiancé Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in California on Sunday.
The bride wore a stunning Vivienne Westwood off-the-shoulder gown to walk down the aisle, modeling one of the late British designer’s most classic looks with some slight modifications.
Working with stylist Jill Jacobs, the brand tweaked some of the draping around the bust and waist, inspired by ancient Greek statues and women of the 18th century
“When I was thinking about [what dress style I wanted] I often found myself coming back to Vivienne’s designs — specifically how the silhouettes really compliment the curves in your body, and her use of corsets,” Lovato told Vogue of the choice.
Lovato added a tulle cathedral-style veil and wore here hair in Old Hollywood waves and natural makeup for her big day.
For the reception, she switched into a “one-of-a-kind” strapless column dress, also by Westwood, with broken pearls cascading down from the neckline in a style inspired by the “golden age of cinema.”
The “Skyscraper” singer, 32, is not the first Disney queen to wear the style. In fact, former foe Miley Cyrus wore the same gown for her surprise wedding to Liam Hemsworth in 2018.
However, Lovato went with a thicker silk satin material while Cyrus chose a slightly more casual silk crepe construction for her at-home nuptials.
While the teen queens may have butted heads during the height of their success, they reconnected in 2020.
And even fellow teen sensation Justin Bieber’s 2019 wedding including the Westwood stamp, too, with now-wife Hailey wearing a minidress version of the same design to the couple’s rehearsal dinner in South Carolina.
Jutes, 34, proposed to Lovato in December 2023 after one year of dating with an enormous pear-shaped engagement ring. She was previously engaged to Max Ehrich in 2020.
